Breathing

There’s a simple yet powerful tool that is available to you at all times. Its also free because it is something inside of you. Its your breath. Notice how you can ‘hold your breath’ when things get excited or you feel nervous. Try letting go as you breathe. If in life, you don’t know which way to go, breathe. Your breath will always guide you gently to what really matters: and that is you. The real you. The you that is pure, that is whole. The you that lives without the clutter you have collected. The you that doesn’t care about circumstances. The joyous, peaceful and wise you. The you that has never been broken and has never left you. Available at all times when you in-and exhale. Connect to yourself and follow the rhythm of your body. The deeper you breathe the deeper your connection. Breathing is connected to our emotions. Thats why its important to keep breathing while we experience emotions. But even when ‘only’ feeling nervous or a little lost use this free tool to ease into our feelings. Sometimes I have nightmares and wake up holding my breath. As soon as I realise I am awake I start to consciously breathe to connect with me again. Then fear subsides and I can relax into the knowing that all is truly well. It also works this way with physical pain. Breathing into the pain may help to connect with it. Its the opposite of trying to push pain away or ignore. Just listen. Breathing really is a wonderful healing tool. You may be surprised what you’ll hear when you listen to your own wisdom.
